Live to Love

It’s quite a simple one: to help create a compassionate and sustainable society in which people of all ages can actively participate in everyday acts of kindness, consideration and generosity.

Live to Love was founded by the Gyalwang Drukpa, head of the Buddhist Drukpa lineage, who has initiated numerous charitable projects that exemplify his inherent message of compassionate service to others. This secular, humanitarian organisation was created to promote five core directions for pro-activity: environmental protection, emergency relief, medical aid, education and heritage preservation. With active projects in each category, the Gyalwang Drukpa was honoured at the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Awards in New York in September 2010 and was the recipient of the Green Hero Award, presented by the President of India, in New Delhi in December 2010.

Live to Love UK (Registered Charity No 1138534) is an autonomous chapter of this global movement.

Bring Me a Book Hong Kong

Bring Me A Book™ Hong Kong has served more than 120,000 children in under-served communities across Hong Kong. Research, made famous by the “30 Million Word Gap” study, links poor early childhood literacy habits with lifelong social and income disparities. Access to books and being read aloud to by a parent or caregiver, helps narrow these gaps and evens out the playing field for low-income families. We have libraries stocked with high quality books in 320 local kindergartens, schools, public hospitals and community centers. Bring Me a Book trainers provide workshops each week to families, social workers and teachers on how to nurture a lifelong love of reading for a child’s future success in school and life.
