Sourcing crocodile leather responsibly and ethically has always been a priority for Ferida Yang. The crocodile skins used to craft our collections are sourced from Heng Long, an exotic skins tanner acquired by the LVMH group in 2011. Under the LIFE (LVMH Initiatives For the Environment) program, the crocodile leather from the tannery must meet the following standards:

  • Preservation of the species and respect for the local communities

  • Animal welfare all along the life stages of the animals

  • Working conditions of men and women on the farms

  • Environment protection

The LVMH standard for crocodile skins was developed with a group of technical experts including the independent NSF International.

Noted for their respect for the environment and working conditions, the tannery was also certified by Leather Working Group in 2017. When purchasing a Ferida Yang handbag, rest assure that the crocodile skin was ethically traded. The appropriate CITES certification is also acquired for each of our crocodile handbags after production.
